DIY Invitations for your Special Event


I have met with many clients over the last few weeks that wanted their invitations to not exceed a certain amount of money.   Depending on the overall look and vision of the couples’ wedding, the budget can be adhered to and some cases it can not.

In your wanting to “save money”, you may end up spending more money in the long run.  Make sure when you make the decision to go the DIY route, you take into consideration the following factors:

1. Cost of paper (Retail) – If you need a certain quantity of invitations, remember you will have to buy more paper to factor in mistakes.

2. Printing Cost (i.e. Office Depot, Kinkos, or even your home printer)  Ink costs money.

3. Design Cost

4. Time/Labor- A job that may take a professional 4 hours could take you 4 times that amount of time.  In some cases you may enlist the help of family and friends who did not sign up to be a part of a DIY project.
